SATURN

 

The resort is specialized in the treatment of locomotory and gynaecological affections and of other associated maladies, as well as in the climatic cure.

 

CLIMATE. Situated on the littoral of the Black Sea, in the southern part of Dobrudja, at an altitude of 0 - 10 m, Saturn has a climate peculiar to the plains, influenced by the Black Sea, with certain Mediterranean characteristics. The average annual temperature is 11,2 grade Celsius (in july, 21,8 grade Celsius, in January, more than - 0,2 grade Celsius). The average annual precipitation reaches 400 mm. The relative humidity is 72% in July and 84% in January. Reduced cloudiness; about 12 hours of sunshine a day in summer. Predominantly north-eastern and western winds.

 

NATURAL CURE FACTORS. Sulphurous, chlorinated, bicarbonated, sodic, calcic, mesothermal mineral waters, with a total mineralization of 15,5 g/l; sapropelic mud extracted and brought from Techirghiol; mud from the peat bog near the resort of Saturn; marine bioclimate rich in saline aerosols and solar radiation, with a stimulating effect.
