BANFFY Palace, Cluj

 

Situated in Cluj, it was built in the late baroque and rococo styles by architect Johann Blaumann from Sibiu between 1744-1785; former residence home of György Bă¡nffy Transylvania's governor between 1787-1822; façades richly decorated with pilaster-statues, highly refined cornices; sumptuously done up inner court; aristocratic taste of inner rooms embellished with marble and stucco-works, fine parquetry, mirrors and chandeliers; nowadays, it houses the Fine Arts Museum.
