Lazarea Castle
LAZAREA Castle
A residence-castle from the 16th c., it is placed near Gheorgheni, on a meadow near a forest; built in the Renaissance style, it was the former residence of the Szekler noble family of the Lă¡ză¡rs; its rectangular precinct is flanked by bulwark towers placed at its corners. Its fairly original and sumptuous aspect is yielded by the stone and brick embattlements and decorations inspired from traditional Szekler embroideries; nowadays, it exhibits collections of art.
